Hunger Fight
Jacksonville, FL
The challenge
A vision to eradicate childhood hunger and illiteracy — one child at a time — with no organization, no infrastructure, and no revenue. Just a mission and the conviction that it was worth building from scratch.
Our approach
Dean and his wife co-founded Hunger Fight 14 years ago and have led its growth from the ground up. Every element of the organization — its strategy, business model, revenue structure, leadership, and operational systems — was built intentionally to sustain the mission at scale. Today Hunger Fight feeds over 17,000 children every weekend and delivers brand-new, age-appropriate books to more than 4,500 preschoolers, with 80% of its $2.5M+ annual revenue coming from recurring income.
Outcomes
“We didn't inherit this organization. We built it — from a vision and a conviction that every child deserves to be well fed and well read.”
— Dean Porter, Co-Founder, Hunger Fight
